  A: The first step for afm Intake Manifold replacement requires removing the air cleaner outlet duct followed by generator removal and disconnecting the engine harness retainer nut and harness from the stud and locator. The evap canister purge solenoid , map sensor , ignition coil harness , left side fuel injectors , throttle actuator , right side fuel injectors , and engine Coolant Temperature Sensor require their respective electrical connectors to be disconnected from the engine harness. Secure all engine harness branches to the cowl panel before repositioning the brake booster vacuum hose clamp and extracting the vacuum hose from the booster fitting. The Intake Manifold bolts need loosening so you can remove the manifold (500) while discarding the gaskets (514). Then remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose before disconnecting the evap canister purge tube and fuel feed line quick connect fitting . Block off the head cylinder passages to keep out debris. Place the new Intake Manifold on a clean platform while repositioning the vacuum hose clamp and removing the vacuum hose from the nipple on the manifold. Start by removing the MAP Sensor retainer followed by removing the MAP Sensor before taking off the upper Intake Manifold cover nut and cover. Begin by disconnecting the evap tube followed by disengaging the evap canister purge solenoid retainer before removing the Throttle Body and its gasket. Begin by removing the Fuel Rail bolts then lift the rail in an even manner to detach the injectors while discarding the lower o-ring seals. During installation replace the brake booster vacuum hose nipple to the new manifold after installing new Fuel Injector lower o-ring seals that received clean engine oil lubrication. Position the Fuel Rail followed by securing its bolts to 10 nm (89 lb in) before installing the Throttle Body with its gasket. The installation process requires you to connect evap tube quick connect fitting after installing evap tube and purge solenoid. Apply engine oil on MAP Sensor seal before installing MAP Sensor and retainer. Install new Intake Manifold gaskets followed by the Intake Manifold (500) after reinstalling the brake booster vacuum hose and attaching the upper Intake Manifold cover and nut. Perform sequence bolt tightening of Intake Manifold bolts (512) to reach 5 nm (44 lb in) then advance to 10 nm (89 lb in). Reconnect the pcv hose together with fuel feed line quick connect fitting as well as the evap canister purge tube. Begin by reconnecting the brake booster vacuum hose to the booster fitting and then untie the engine harness branches until you can reconnect electrical connectors to the ect sensor , right side fuel injectors , throttle actuator , ignition coil harness , left side fuel injectors , and MAP Sensor . First tighten the engine harness retainer nut to 5 nm (44 lb in) before reinstalling the generator followed by the air cleaner outlet duct installation.
