How to Replace a Tie Rod in the Steering Linkage on 2010 GMC Yukon?

The replacement process of the steering linkage inner Tie Rod begins with boot removal to check for corrosion or contamination on the Tie Rod. Any detected damage requires a new steering gear. Position a pipe wrench on the flats of the steering gear rack which is next to the steering linkage inner Tie Rod and add a second wrench on the inner Tie Rod flats. Use a counterclockwise rotation of the inner Tie Rod as you maintain the steering gear rack in position until the Tie Rod parts from the rack. Application of loctite(R) 262 onto inner Tie Rod threads should occur before installation and the steering linkage inner Tie Rod needs to be mounted on the steering gear rack. Apply another pipe wrench to the flats of the steering gear rack beside the inner Tie Rod to reach a torque of 150 nm (111 lb ft). The last step involves reinstallation of the steering gear boot.
