  Q: How to replace the power mirror switch on Buick Century?

  A: First prepare to change the power Mirror Switch through a plastic flat-bladed tool inserted at the switch mounting plate front edge that must be both pressed backward to open the mounting plate retainer while the front edge of the plate gets lifted upward. Disconnect the Power Window Switch before starting to work because the express up/down feature will cause rapid movement of the door window. Protective coating and tape should be applied to the tool insertion point to guard against harm to the inner door trim panel. Begin the door trim panel and switch plate removal by first putting the Ignition Switch to off to stop any short circuits from occurring with metal objects. The installation of the Mirror Switch requires a small flat-bladed tool for retainer release until the switch is free from the door. After switch removal you must disconnect the electrical connector before removing the switch from the door. Installation of the power Mirror Switch consists of setting the mounting plate on its plate then connecting wires to the power Mirror Switch before sliding the mounting plate into the door trim opening and pushing to lock the retainer.
