The first step to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor requires removal of the exhaust manifold lower heat shield. Begin by disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor then unfasten the crankshaft sensor bolt before extracting the crankshaft sensor. When installing the new crankshaft position sensor position it correctly while keeping in mind all fastener caution instructions. First tighten the crankshaft position sensor bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in) strength and afterward reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the CKP sensor and reinstall the exhaust manifold lower heat shield.
