Buick Enclave Fuel Pressure Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the fuel pressure sensor in the fuel injection fuel rail on Buick Enclave?
A: A technician must use ch-48027 or do not use it to eliminate fuel system pressure before Fuel Pressure Sensor replacement on the fuel injection Fuel Rail. The first step involves extracting both the Intake Manifold and the foam insulator situated on the fuel rails. Clean the location where the sensor attaches to both the fuel line and fuel injection Fuel Rail yet ensure you avoid contaminating the area then exercise care when handling the plastic sensor housing. A 27 mm socket should be used to remove the Fuel Pressure Sensor from the fuel injection Fuel Rail after sensor discard. Absorb all remaining fuel from the Fuel Rail and sensor area before drying this area and the sealing cone inside the rail with a lint-free cloth to ensure complete absence of fuel and debris. Apply gm p/n 12345610 (Canadian P/N 993193) silicon-free engine oil or equivalent to both the sealing cone and threads of the new Fuel Pressure Sensor along with the Fuel Rail. Replace the new Fuel Pressure Sensor at the fuel injection Fuel Rail with hand tightening but remove it and relubricate according to earlier directions. Fasten the new Fuel Pressure Sensor onto the fuel injection Fuel Rail until torque reaches 33 nm (25 lb ft). The replacement process includes putting back the foam insulators into both the fuel rails and the Intake Manifold. Replacement of the Fuel Rail is necessary if the fuel leak occurs at this Fuel Rail component. To inspect for fuel leaks turn on the ignition with engine off for two seconds while checking for any fuel leaks followed by turning off ignition for ten seconds before checking for further leaks when re-turning on ignition with engine off.
