How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for Side Impact on Buick LaCrosse?

Starting the replacement of the Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor (SIS) requires first turning off the SIR system's operation. Access the sensor through the raised window while you remove the door trim panel. Free up enough part of the water deflector so you can reach the side impact sensor. First loosen all bolts holding the sensor to the door then remove the sensor before removing the connector position assurance from the side impact sensor connector and lastly disconnecting the connector. Securely place the new Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor close to the door after cleaning the mounting surface. Then insert the side impact sensor connector. Position the CPA onto the connector before connecting the side impact sensor to the door and torquing the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Place the water deflector back in position then activate the SIR system.
