Buick Lucerne TPMS Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Repair a Snap In Style TPMS Sensor on Buick Lucerne?
A: To change the Tire Pressure Indicator Sensor (Snap In Style); first, lift up the vehicle on an appropriate support. Remove the vehicle tire/wheel assembly and dismount the tire from the rim. Evenly use a new Schrader (R) tire pressure monitor (TPM) and a new TORX screw in the installation of the unit. Drill the TORX screw out of the tire pressure sensor and pull it straight off the tire pressure valve stem . Avoid scratching or mechanical damage to the clear coating on aluminum wheels while using tire changing hardware, as it may result in corrosion and flaking. Then pull out the tire pressure valve stem at the end of the rim. Mount the tire pressure sensor to the valve stem and attach the new TORX screw and tighten to 1. 3 Nm (11. 5 lb in). Use an approved tire mounting lubricant that does not contain silicon or corrosive base chemicals that will break down the tire or rim. Rib the rubber part of the valve stem with tire soap using a hand tire valve-stem mounting tool, pull the valve hole until it is parallel to the rim's valve hole. Keep in mind that Snap Fit TPM sensors are sent in the OFF mode, yet will come out of the same mode upon tire inflation, so the technician can program the vehicle in the standard way. Mount the tire to the rim, install tire/wheel assembly on the vehicle, and lower the vehicle. Lastly, learn the tire pressure sensors.
