Q: How to replace the outlet oil cooler hose on Buick Rendezvous?
A: Top the engine coolant from the cooling system before replacing the oil cooler outlet line. Take out the oil cooler pipe bracket bolt from the oil cooler pipe bracket located in the right engine mount strut bracket, then disconnect the upper oil cooler outlet hose from the thermostat bypass pipe. Lift and hand the vehicle, remove the lower outlet hose from the oil cooler, and take out the oil cooler outlet hoses and pipe. Next, take off the hose(s) from the upper or lower oil cooler outlet hose(s) from oil cooler pipe. For installation, install the upper or lower oil cooler outlet hose(s) to the oil cooler pipe, after which you should install the oil cooler outlet hoses and pipe. Connect the lower outlet hose of the oil cooler to the oil cooler, then lower the vehicle and connect the upper outlet hose of the oil cooler to the thermostat bypass pipe. Use the oil cooler pipe bracket bolt to bolt the oil cooler pipe bracket to the right engine mount strut bracket with a 10 nm (89 inch lbs.) torque. Add engine coolant into the cooling system, service engine oil if needed, and check the oil cooler for leaks.
