To install a new seal for the case you should first apply a small amount of j 36850 (Transmission Assembly Lubricant) or petroleum jelly. Then fit a new filter into the case. The Oil Pan gaskets can be reused in all situations unless the sealing surface has sustained damage. Install the Oil Pan together with its gasket at the same time and tighten all Oil Pan bolts to 14 nm (125 inch lbs.). Lower the car while checking transmission fluid levels correctly and inspecting for leaks in both the transmission fluid pan gasket.
