Raise the shift lever seal towards the shift lever before you remove the steering column trim covers if required. Detach the shift connector located at the column base before removing the shift lever screw installed on the shift lever assembly. Leaning the shift lever seal to the narrow section of the shift lever while removing the shift lever and seal from the linear shift assembly. Insert the shift lever seal onto the narrow end of shift lever assembly before installing the shift lever assembly to linear shift assembly. The shift lever screw needs to be inserted into the shift lever assembly before final tightening to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Move the shift lever seal down from end to end of the shift lever assembly until it reaches proper alignment with the steering column trim covers. After reattaching the steering column trim covers enable the sir system if needed.
