    Q:
How to replace the Automatic Transmission Shifter on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replacing the automatic transmission shift lever requires sir system disabling before moving the shift lever seal onto the lever shaft. You should start by removing steering column trim pieces as well as disconnecting the shift lever connector found at the column base. Pull away the shift lever screw from the shift lever assembly while extracting both the shift lever and the seal through the linear shift assembly. Ensure the shift lever seal removal occurs by sliding it towards the narrow end of the shift lever. The shift lever seal must be positioned at the narrow end of the shift lever assembly before installation onto the linear shift assembly. Insert the shift lever screw into the shift lever assembly while tightening it to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Position the shift lever seal downward along the shift lever assembly until it matches with the steering column trim covers. After reassembling the steering column trim covers you can enable the sir system.

How to Assemble Automatic Transmission Shift Levers Off on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before assembling the shift lever off the car, put the shift lever seal on the shift lever assembly . After that, use the shift lever screw to fasten the shift lever assembly, making sure the torque is 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.). Connect the shift lever connector, and then insert the wire harness assembly into the clip and make sure the wire straps are secured. At the end, put the upper and lower shrouds onto the shift lever.

    Q:
How to replace the Automatic Transmission Shifter lever on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step when replacing an automatic transmission shift lever requires the sir system to be disabled. You should shift the shift lever seal upward along the shift lever before moving forward with the removal of steering column trim covers if needed. First disconnect the shift lever connector beneath the column before pulling out the shift lever screw that fastens the shift lever assembly. To remove the shift lever components from the linear shift assembly you should carefully slide the shift lever seal towards the narrow section of the lever while extracting them. The execution involves installing the shift lever seal onto the shift lever assembly before you can attach the shift lever assembly to the linear shift assembly. The shift lever screw must be installed into the shift lever assembly while screw torque should reach 1.5 nm (13 inch lbs.). Let the shift lever seal slide down the shift lever assembly so that it can meet the steering column trim covers. Reinstall the steering column trim covers if required before activating the sir system.

    Q:
How to replace the Automatic Transmission Shift Levers for the range selector cable in the automatic transaxle (A/T) on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process of Automatic Transmission Shift Levers starts by removing the throttle body air inlet duct. The first step requires removing the a/t range selector lever nut before detaching the automatic transmission shift lever cable from the a/t range selector lever. The installation begins when reversing these steps starting with reattaching the a/t range selector lever cable to the a/t range selector lever. Reinstall the automatic transmission (A/T) range selector lever to its designated position while closely following the fastener notice in service precaution requirements. Fasten the a/t range selector lever nut tightly to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) torque value then connect the a/t range selector lever cable to the a/t range selector lever. Operation of the a/t range selector lever cable must be adjusted before reattaching the throttle body air inlet duct.

    Q:
How to Replace Automatic Transmission Shift Levers on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for shift lever replacement requires Battery Cable disconnection and sir system deactivation. First remove the steering column shrouds and the Steering Wheel before taking out the left closeout/insulator panel if installed with traction control. The traction control harness should get its electrical connector disconnected while you gently pull out the harness from the column keeping track of the original route for later assembly. To remove the shift lever to shift control you must first eliminate its torx(R) head fastener then gently pull upward on the shift lever. Push and lower the new shift lever to properly slot it into the shift control before placing the torx(R) head fastener. Route the traction control harness through the column by following the marking routes that were noted earlier. Steering column shrouds and Steering Wheel installation should be followed by fitting the left closeout/insulator panel when traction control exists on the vehicle. Finally, enable the sir system.

    Q:
How to replace the Automatic Transmission Shifter lever on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting the repair of an automatic transmission shift lever requires disabling the restraints system. The shift lever seal needs to slide upwards along the shift lever before the removal of steering column trim covers becomes necessary. The customer should disconnect the shift lever connector which sits beneath the column base while using tools to uninstall the shift lever screw from the shift lever assembly component. Extraction of the shift lever and its seal from the linear shift assembly needs proper sliding of the shift lever seal towards the narrow section of the shift lever. The narrow end of the shift lever assembly should have the shift lever seal installed before attaching the assembly to the linear shift assembly. Fasten the shift lever screw to the shift lever assembly by tightening it to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Push the shift lever seal downwards along the shift lever assembly until it properly fits into the steering column trim covers. Enable the restraint system only after reattaching the steering column trim covers when necessary.

How to replace the Automatic Transmission Shifter lever on Cadillac DeVille? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace an automatic transmission shift lever requires sir system deactivation. Use sliding motion to move the shift lever seal upward through the shift lever. And if needed, remove each steering column trim covering. Separate the shift lever connector working at the column base before you take off the shift lever screw from the shift lever assembly. First pull out the shift lever along with its seal from the linear shift assembly but make sure you extract the shift lever seal by pushing it down towards the narrow segment of the shift lever. Put the shift lever seal on the minimal end of the shift lever before joining the shift lever assembly to the linear shift assembly. The installation of shift lever screw into the shift lever assembly requires a tightening force of 1.5 nm (13 in. Lbs.). Move the shift lever seal down the shift lever assembly until it matches the position of the steering column trim covers. The sir system should be activated only after reattaching steering column trim covers.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Automatic Transmission Shifter on Cadillac DeVille? Posted by Customer
    A:
The automatic transmission shifter servicing starts with console trim plate and left side console trim plate removal. Start the shifter service by first removing the anti-theft plate together with its tamper proof fastener from the shift position using the tamper proof tool J43146 only if the vehicle has T1A RPO Code. The procedure requires separation of the shift cable terminal from its position joined to the shifter pin followed by removal of the shift cable bolt and cable from the shifter assembly. The BTSI wire harness connector should be disconnected from the BTSI solenoid before pulling the park lock cable out of its shifter slot. First disconnect the park lock cable from the park lock cam then remove the shifter fasteners followed by separating the shifter backlight wire harness connector. Open the console side panels to remove the shifter assembly through its width. The installation requires you to re-open the console side panels followed by shifter assembly placement before you secure the specified-torque shifter fasteners. After the shifter backlight wire harness connector connection the park lock cable should be placed into the park lock cam while ensuring the cable locking tab stays securely locked. Fasten the BTSI solenoid wire harness connector and amount the shift cable terminal onto the shifter pin and secure the shift cable to the shifter by tightening its fastener to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). To adjust the shift cable engage neutral position then loosen the shifter adjuster nut before securing it at 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). The anti-theft plate along with tamper proof fastener needs to be installed with J43146 tamper proof bit when RPO Code (T1A) is present. Put on the left side console trim plate last along with the console trim plate.
