How to replace the door check link on Buick Rainier?

You can access the door hole by taking out the door trim panel together with the front half of the water deflector to replace the door check link. Begin by removing the bolt which holds the front lower window run channel in place and afterward separate the 2 bolts that link the door check link to the pillar. The door retaining nuts will require access through the door check link rubber boot before removing the door check link assembly from its position through the access hole. During installation you should send the door check link assembly through the door access hole while keeping the position arrow directed toward the front. Insert the 2 door check link retaining nuts onto the door before torquing them to 7 N.m (62 lb in) and reattaching the rubber dust boot to the door check link. Fitting the door check link to the pillar requires installation of the 2 retaining bolts which need tightening to 15 N.m (11 lb ft) torque while completing the installation of the front lower window run channel as the last step. Install the door trim panel after seating the water deflector completely.
