How to replace the power mirror switch on Buick Regal?

The Power Window Switch needs to be detached first so the express up/down feature cannot injure technicians. Protective coating or tape should be placed at the insertion point where a small flat-bladed tool will access the inner door trim panel to prevent any damage. Instead of disconnecting the Ignition Switch the technician should turn it off before attempting switch removal to avoid shorting. Start by putting a plastic flat-bladed tool into the switch mounting plate at the front edge then push it toward the rear to let go of the retaining clip with gentle upward movement of the plate front section. To perform this task start by releasing the Mirror Switch retainers with an appropriate flat-bladed tool followed by switch removal then unplug the electrical connector before taking the switch out. The power Mirror Switch assembly needs to be attached to the mounting plate followed by electrical connector installation onto the power Mirror Switch before inserting the mounting plate into the door trim panel opening while pressing down to activate the retainer.
