First remove the three engine front cover bolts numbered 540, 541, and 545 before removing both the gasket and the actual engine front cover. Engine front cover replacement requires removal of both the drive belt shield bolt and the drive belt shield and the Water Pump. Installation begins with either replacing or installing the Water Pump when an engine front cover replacement occurred and proceeds with the front cover gasket. Apply sealer to both bottom tabs of the engine front cover gasket so that the sealer width reaches at least 5.0 mm (0.20 in). The installation of the engine front cover begins with tightening its bolts after applying sealer in the designated areas. Start by tightening the engine front cover bolts at 27 n.m (20 lb ft) then work your way to the engine front cover bolts at 55 n.m (41 lb ft).
