  A: Engine front cover replacement must begin by draining the engine cooling system and engine oil. First, remove the crankshaft balancer together with drive belt tensioner and Power Steering Pump and all lines and set the pump aside. Disconnect the bypass hose from the front cover and radiator outlet hose followed by eliminating the coolant pump pulley and the wiring harness bracket for the crankshaft position sensor. First use a screwdriver to disconnect all engine front cover bolts at numbers 1, 2 and 3 then remove both the engine front cover together with its gasket. Thoroughly clean both the front cover's gasket sealing surface and the engine block while examining the front cover for damage affecting either the crankshaft front oil seal or the gasket sealing portion. Engine front cover replacement requires removing the drive belt shield combined with the crankshaft position sensor and coolant pump. To install the engine front cover first place the coolant pump and crankshaft position sensor onto the front cover before installing the drive belt shield. Begin by installing the engine front cover and torquing bolt to 55 nm (41 ft. Lbs.) then bolt to the same torque and finish with bolt at 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). Secure the crankshaft position sensor wiring bracket using a 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.) torque setting on its bolt. The coolant pump needs installation before you attach the radiator outlet hose to the pump while connecting the thermostat bypass pipe to the engine front cover. First reinstall the Power Steering Pump followed by lines before moving on to add the drive belt tensioner then position the crankshaft balancer at its place. As a final step add new engine oil to the system along with engine coolant to the cooling system.
