You must first lower the rear compartment lid trim before starting the back up lamp replacement. You must disconnect the electrical plug and unscrew the fasteners first to access the back up lamp assembly. First take out the bulb parts and then the bulb housing unit. First put the bulb in the bulb socket and next install the bulb assembly into the back up lamp assembly. Push the wire harness inside the body and place the grommet before fixing the back up lamp to the rear compartment lid using fasteners that you tighten to 4.5 n.m (40 lb in). Place the rear compartment lid trim back and plug in the electrical connector.

First, remove the liftgate applique from the liftgate by opening the liftgate. After that, take off the back up lamp socket by turning it to the left, and pull out the back up lamp from the socket. Start by putting the new back up lamp bulb into the socket, and then put the back up lamp socket into the liftgate applique, twisting it in clockwise. Lastly, put the liftgate applique back on the liftgate and close the gate.
