Cadillac Catera Antenna Cable Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace an Antenna Cable for Extension Cable on Cadillac Catera?
    A:
To replace the Antenna Cable, start by removing upper rear quarter finish trim panels, rear window trim panel, right rear side trim from rear compartment and passenger hinge pillar trim panel. Next, remove the radio and disconnect Antenna Cable from the antenna amp. Trim the visible end of the Antenna Cable from the wire harness in the radio portion and from the wire harness in the rear cargo area. First, install the new Antenna Cable to the vehicle, taping a piece of tape around the hole in the rear parcel shelf to avoid chafing. Feed the new Antenna Cable down into the hole in the rear shelf and then carry the tape-fine down along the inboard side of the rear compartment area. Fasten the Antenna Cable to the wire harness with an electrical tape or a nylon tie strap, secured at least every 150 mm (6 in). Route the antenna wire to the radio using the hvac module and through radio support bracket. Connect the Antenna Cable to the antenna amplifier, and subsequently to the radio. Reinstall the radio, the passenger hinge pillar trim panel, the right rear side trim, the rear window trim panel, and finally the upper rear quarter trim finish panels.
