  Q: How to replace the wiper motor on Cadillac Catera?

  A: To replace the wiper motor, begin by opening the hood and remove the windshield wiper transmission. Disengage the upper link of the transmission off the motor crank arm, and unclip the halor-coharness connector off wiper transmission assembly. Then, remove the crank arm nut from wiper motor and remove the crank arm. Next, remove the nut from the wiper motor bracket push rod, and then pull the wiper motor out of the wiper transmission assembly. For the installation, fit the wiper motor into the wiper transmission assembly and install the wiper motor bracket bolts, tightening them to 4 N.m (35 lb in). Mount the crank arm on to the wiper motor and fasten it by means of crank arm nut, which is in turn, tightened to 4 N.m (35 lb in). Retrace the harness connector to connect back to the wiper transmission assembly; install the upper link to the crank arm; replace the windshield wiper transformer and finally, close the hood.
