  A: Disconnection of the wiring harness from the sensor stands as the initial step to service the camshaft position (CMP) sensor . After removing the bracket for the A/C low pressure line the technician should unfasten the holds that secure the wiring harness to the intake plenum for procedure access on the sensor. First separate the fastening bolt for the CMP sensor before removing both sensor and seal from the camshaft cover. The CMP sensor installation requires complete surface cleaning between itself and the camshaft cover.
