  Q: How to Service the Wiper Switch on Cadillac Catera?

  A: Before servicing the windshield washer switch the sir system needs to be disabled. Completely remove the screws and caps from the upper steering column before taking off its cover. Pull out the steering wheel tilt lever before you take the rubber cover off the lock cylinder. Depress the screws holding the lower Steering Column Cover and detach it from the assembly. Use the tabs to take the windshield washer switch off from the steering column while disconnecting the electrical connector. Join the electrical cord to Turn Signal Switch before fixing the Turn Signal Switch at the steering column and verifying that the tabs click properly. Place the lower Steering Column Cover back in its position and attach screws. Afterward, put the rubber protection cover over the Ignition Lock Cylinder. Put back the steering wheel tilt lever before placing both the upper Steering Column Cover layers into position and screwing them into place. Reconnect the electrical connector to the Turn Signal Switch while installing it to the steering column and then seal the upper column with screw caps.
