  • Q: How to replace the Air Bag Clockspring on Cadillac Catera?
    A: Before changing the air bag clock spring, make sure to deactivate the sir system. Take off the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module, then take the Steering Wheel off, and after that, remove both the upper and lower Steering Column shrouds. After that, take off the Steering Wheel tilt lever and pull apart the wiring harness connector from the air bag clock spring. Then, take off all the retaining rings and clips, and take the air bag clock spring out of the Steering Column. Make sure the coil is centered as you put the air bag clock spring onto the Steering Column. Make sure you connect the air bag clock spring wiring harness connector before putting back the Steering Wheel tilt lever, the upper and lower shrouds, and the Steering Wheel. After all that, put the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module back in and enable the sir system.
