How to service and repair the A/C Accumulator and replace the air conditioning refrigerant desiccant on Cadillac CTS?

The first step before servicing the A/C accumulator requires removal of the air conditioning refrigerant desiccant through refrigerant recovery process. The front bumper facia deflector needs to be removed first. Begin by taking out the bottom plug of the A/C accumulator followed by the filter and the desiccant bag. Begin the installation process by putting the new desiccant bag followed by the filter unit. The bottom plug requires lubrication using refrigerant oil so installation can be completed by tightening it to 12.5 N.m (111 lb in). Finally, place the front bumper facia deflector back onto position then lower the vehicle while applying the correct amount of oil. Evacuation and recharging the refrigerant must follow while using a Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A) to perform fitting leak tests.
