- Q: How to replace the battery sensor on Cadillac CTS?A: Begin the battery current sensor replacement by disconnecting the instrument panel (I/P) harness electrical connector from the sensor then removing the negative Battery Cable. First remove electrical tape and tie straps which secure the battery current sensor to the Battery Cable before gently bending the negative cable branches together. Record the sensor placement before performing removal. Remove the battery current sensor away from the negative Battery Cable. Follow these installation steps: position the tape tab toward the opposite direction of the battery before placing the new battery current sensor onto the negative Battery Cable. You should use new tie straps combined with electrical tape to attach the battery current sensor to the negative Battery Cable. After securing it in place, reinstall the negative Battery Cable followed by connecting the i/p harness electrical connector to the battery current sensor.
