How to replace the Battery Cable extension on 3.0L and 3.6L engines on Cadillac CTS?

Before replacing the extension cable for the battery negative cable the front compartment side sight shield must be removed from all 3.0L and 3.6L engine vehicles. First disconnect the negative terminal of the battery before removing the grounding bolt for negative battery cables. Start by lifting the vehicle and disconnecting the Battery Cable Terminal Bolt . Mark the direction of extension cable path and extract the cable from the vehicle. When installing the battery negative cable extension cable place it on the vehicle while following the provided fastener precautions. Screw in the Battery Cable Terminal Bolt until tightness reaches 35 Nm (26 lb ft) then fasten the battery negative cable ground bolt at 20 Nm (15 lb ft). As the final step replace the front compartment side sight shield and secure the battery negative cable.
