How to replace the negative battery cable (LP1, LY7) on 2007 Cadillac CTS?

Start battery negative cable replacement by disconnecting the terminal (LP1, LY7). Disconnect the battery negative cable by removing its securing bolt from the side rail and disconnecting the body harness connector from the cable. Start by taking the vehicle lower while removing the engine block stud that connects the battery negative cable. To install the new battery negative cable position it against the engine then install the engine stud making sure the torque reaches 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Install the bolt while securing the battery negative cable to the side rail by tightening it up to 36 n.m (27 lb ft). Connect the body harness connector to the battery negative cable and complete the reconnection of this cable. When performing repairs replace cables with exact duplicates of the original cables in terms of type and diameter and length and maintain the same path as the original.
