  A: Begin the generator (LP1, LY7) replacement by removing the battery negative cable then unfastening the Drive Belt from the generator. Position the engine support fixture under the vehicle then lift the vehicle to a higher position. Disconnect the electrical connector from the generator before moving the protective boot away from the generator output bat terminal for service access. First disconnect the bat terminal nut and positive battery lead on the generator then disconnect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) electrical connector. Start by lessening both the engine mount lower nuts and generator lower bolts then lower the vehicle down. First raise the engine using the support fixture and remove the generator upper bolt to complete the generator removal.
