When repairing the valve guide seal and valve spring on the left side you require seven specific tools from jbt eneb series: valve guide seal remover & installer j 38820, spark plug port adapter j 39313, valve keeper installer j 43059, and valve spring compressor j 44211 and j 44214. Raise the vehicle on support stands after removing both left
Camshafts. Unfasten the transaxle-to-engine brace then take out the torque converter hood. Install the j 44214 tool followed by lowering the vehicle. Place the base plate of the j 44211 onto the Spark Plug hole after you remove the Spark Plug from the serviced cylinder. Use the j 39313 tool and pressurize it into the Spark Plug hole to hold the next valve in place. Line up the j 44211 arm and swivel nut over the valve stud and fasten just enough to reach the valve locks. Use a magnet to unlock valve locks on the j 44211. Then loosen the swivel nut, move the arm sideways to pull out the valve spring retainer and valve spring. Insert the j 38820 to take out the old valve guide seal while checking it for damage. Dispose of the seal after this step. Smear clean engine oil onto the valve stem and inside space of the new seal before putting the new seal in with the j 38820 by twisting it gently. After installing the valve spring on top and laying the spring retainer under it put the arm over both pieces. Then grab the swivel nut and give it a final tightens to insert the valve locks. Thread the j43059 through valve slots to position locks and detach the j44211 swivel nut along with its arm from each valve location. Repeat this steps for all needed valves. After letting air pressure out you need to obtain the j 39313 component and base plate of the j 44211 before putting back the Spark Plug. Detach the j 44214 and put back the mounted left camshafts while also raising and supporting the vehicle. Put the
Oil Pan back onto the transaxle brace before lowering the vehicle while locking bolts at a torque of 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.).
