Cadillac Escalade ESV ABS Control Module Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace the ABS Control Module Without JL4 on Cadillac Escalade ESV?
A:
Determine a method to lift the vehicle while starting ABS Control Module replacement work without JL4. Remove all dirt and debris from ABS Control Module as well as the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) before beginning any component loosening or removal procedure. After disconnecting the ABS Control Module electrical connector, install new screws and avoid using the existing ABS Control Module to BPMV screws. Pull the ABS Control Module from the BPMV only after removing and discarding the ABS Control Module to BPMV screws. The ABS Control Module cleaning process includes using denatured alcohol on both components before positioning the ABS Control Module into place on the BPMV. The installation requires addition of four new ABS Control Module to BPMV screws and their X-pattern tightening should reach 3 N.m (27 lb in). The ABS Control Module electrical connector must be connected while following the appropriate programming steps for a replacement ABS Control Module. The BPMV needs further bleeding procedures through its automated system.
