How to replace the lower control arm ball joint on cast iron lower control arms on Cadillac Escalade ESV?

The first step when changing the lower Control Arm Ball Joint on cast iron vehicles calls for lifting and supporting the vehicle before you remove the tire and wheel. You need to disconnect the lower Control Arm from the car. After positioning the lower Control Arm inside a vise you should remove any Ball Joint body crimps with a chisel to prepare for removing the joint from the Control Arm with a pressing tool. Insert the new Ball Joint by fitting its outer flange first then fix the lower Control Arm in place using a vise. Install the crimps on the new Ball Joint through punching while following the position of the replaced Ball Joint. Insert the lower Control Arm back into the vehicle and then put on the tire and wheel as usual. Complete the work by taking out the safety stand then letting the vehicle down before checking wheel alignment.
