    Q:
How to replace the lower ball joint on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to replace the lower Ball Joint first raise the vehicle, respecting the vehicle lifting and the rear wheel steering lifting and jacking notice for safety. Erase a tire and wheel then take out the bolt and nut that fastens bracket to reveal the pinch bolt. Next, pull off the snap ring from the Ball Joint stud, and the bolts that secure the lower Ball Joint to the Steering Knuckle. Remove that pinch bolt that secures the lower ball and remove the lower Ball Joint form the vehicle. For installation, align the new lower Ball Joint and then bolt it to the steering process with the component bolts and tighten them to 110 n.m (81 lb ft). Snug the lower Ball Joint pinch bolt and tighten it to 230 n.m (169 lb ft). Then, put on the snapring upon the lower Ball Joint, and the bolt and nut securing the bracket to the axle, then tighten to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Lastly, do a four-wheel alignment and install the rire and wheel again and bring down the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the lower ball joint on a with torsion bar suspension on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
You must raise and hold the vehicle before disassembling the tire wheel assembly and lower Control Arm so you can switch out the lower Ball Joint on a vehicle with its torsion bar suspension. Position the Control Arm in a vise clamp and use a chisel to remove the clips from the joint body only when they exist. Set the Ball Joint into the press tool to detach it from the lower Control Arm. Insert the new Ball Joint through the outer flange into place and put the lower Control Arm back into the vice for installation. You can use a punch to attach crimps onto the Ball Joint after matching them with the original replacement parts. Insert the lower Control Arm first and put back the tire and wheel unit afterward. With stands removed place the vehicle back to ground level and test the wheel alignment.

    Q:
How to replace the upper ball joint on Cadillac Escalade EXT? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the upper Ball Joint the vehicle must first go up on a lift with the tire and wheel removed. Take out bolt and nut that fasten the bracket to the axle structure before you detach the bracket from the axle. To take the brake hose bracket from the axle you must remove its holding bolt first. The j 44664 upper Ball Joint nut remover needs to be used to take out the nut that holds the Steering Knuckle's upper Ball Joint in place. Fatigue the Steering Knuckle using the j 44663 upper Ball Joint remover and then push out the upper Ball Joint stud from its socket. Complete the removal process by taking the upper Ball Joint out of the vehicle. Place the upper Ball Joint onto the Steering Knuckle before installing its retaining bolts and stud. Tighten them to 110 nm (81 ft.lbs). Secure the upper Ball Joint to Steering Knuckle using j 44664 tool while tightening it to 200 nm (147 ft. Lbs.). Attach the bracket back to the axle after fitting both the bolt and nut which needs 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) torque. Fasten the bolt to hold the brake hose bracket onto the axle. Tighten it to 12 nm or 106 inch pounds. Reinstall the tire and wheel afterward a four-wheel alignment check.
