Cadillac Escalade EXT Window Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front door window motor on Cadillac Escalade EXT?
A: Users must begin by lifting the window while those dealing with inoperable motors should remove glass windows to access motor retaining screws. The next step requires you to remove door trim panel, water deflector and door speaker before you support the glass. You must disconnect the wiring harness from the Window Regulator motor after which you should remove the 3 retaining bolts while maintaining the cable gear in the housing to stop it from detaching from the spool. The installation process starts with a motor wiggle to detach it from the cable housing while recording its orientation before removing the motor from the Window Regulator assembly. Install the new Window Motor by wiggling it into the cable housing after attaching the 3 bolts which should be tightened to 5 n.m (44 lb in). Reinstall the glass window before applying the wiring harness to the Window Regulator motor. Test the window function by connecting the wire to the switch and then disconnect the wire harness after evaluation. Complete the installation process by putting back the speaker then the water deflector and lastly the door trim panel.
