When replacing an automatic transmission flex plate begin by removing the transmission as well as marking down the position and direction of the engine Flywheel before extraction. Begin by removing the two Flywheel bolts before taking out the Flywheel. Position the Flywheel along with bolts onto the Crankshaft according to the threads of the Flywheel bolts but with threadlock applied using the correct adhesive part number. One needs to exercise care while working with fasteners because improper handling can result in vehicle damage. The installation requires several passes of bolting the Flywheel where the first pass reaches 20 nm (15 lb ft), then a second pass reaches 50 nm (37 lb ft) and the final pass concludes at 100 nm (74 lb ft). Finally, install the automatic transmission.
