Disconnect the steering linkage inner Tie Rod nut from its position on the steering linkage inner Tie Rod. First cut the steering gear boot clamp sections with side cutters before discarding the steering gear boot. Installation starts with the new steering gear boot clamp before applying grease to the steering linkage inner Tie Rod and the steering gear . Place the steering gear boot over the steering linkage inner Tie Rod . Steering gear boots must settle into their correct positions because misalignment or puckering causes issues.
