Cadillac Seville Fuel Pressure Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the Fuel Pressure Sensor on Cadillac Seville?
A: A service of the fuel tank pressure sensor starts with obtaining three essential tools: fuel pressure gauge (J 34730). The service must prioritize safety through the practice of forced air ventilation to manage fuel vapors while caps and plugs should cover system openings and immediate spill cleanup must occur and spark avoidance is mandatory along with warning signs to mark the workspace. Start the process by emptying the fuel system fuel pressure from the system. The service begins by taking out the spare tire along with its cover and jack and afterward trimming the rear compartment trim panel. Follow this sequence to uninstall the fuel sender access panel: remove bolts, disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor electric connection then remove its clip. The technician removes the fuel tank pressure sensor from its position inside the modular fuel sender. The new fuel tank pressure sensor must be placed onto the modular fuel sender before installation and then electrical connector attachment followed by sensor clip replacement. Install the fuel sender access panel to the chassis while tightening its bolts to 2 n.m (18 lb in). The installation ends by fasting the fuel tank filler pipe cap and putting back the spare tire cover and jack and securing the spare tire underneath the floor trim in the rear compartment. The next step is to connect the negative Battery Cable while installing the intake manifold sight shield onto the engine using nuts which need tightening to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Afterward replace the rear seat cushion.
