A long screwdriver should be used to extract the fluid filter out while the two fluid filter seals should be detached with the universal seal remover (J23129) and slide hammer adapter (J6125-1B). To install the fluid filter seals block two new seals onto the transmission filter neck then apply transjel lubricant (J36850) or petroleum jelly on them. Install the transmission fluid filter into the case through which you must install the fluid pan and gasket before tightening all fluid pan bolts to 11 nm (97 inch lbs.). Before closing the transmission ensure the proper fluid levels have been attained. Lower the vehicle then check for any fluid leakage from the Oil Pan Gasket.
