Draining the Fuel Tank to a level beneath the Fuel Filler Hose is the initial step before removing the fuel filler tube. You should first detach the fuel filler tube body retaining bolts and afterward remove the right rear wheel followed by the right rear wheelhouse liner. Start the fuel filler tube replacement by breaking the fuel filler tube brace bolt and disconnecting the Fuel Filler Hose from the Fuel Tank followed by unconnecting the filler vent tube from the evaporative emission (EVAP) hose before pulling out the fuel filler tube from the vehicle. Position the fuel filler tube then link up the filler hose to the Fuel Tank before torquing up the fuel filler tube hose clamp to 3.5 n.m (31 lb in). Place the filler vent tube onto the evap hose and thread in the fuel filler tube brace bolt before setting its torque to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Reinstall both the right rear wheelhouse liner and the right wheel before tensioning fuel filler tube body bolts to 3.5 n.m (31 lb in). The last step includes filling the tank with gas while checking for leaks and placing the fuel filler cap back in its original position.
