How to service and repair the timing belt tensioner on Cadillac Catera?

You must start service and repair of the Timing Belt Tensioner by removing the intake air resonator followed by the intake plenum then the Timing Belt cover. The process requires removing the Timing Belt together with tensioner pulley bracket bolts to allow the removal of the Timing Belt Tensioner bracket and its attached pulley. Installation of the Timing Belt Tensioner pulley and bracket assembly must begin by carefully following the fastener notice. Secure all Timing Belt Tensioner pulley bracket bolts while tightening them to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Put back the Timing Belt followed by the Timing Belt cover and intake plenum and terminate with the intake air resonator.
