How to replace the underhood fuse box on Cadillac XLR?

The initial step before changing an underhood electrical center or Fuse Box includes disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Remove the lead nut from the positive Battery Cable at the Fuse Box after placing the cable lead aside. The first step involves taking off the Fuse Box cover while simultaneously freeing up the electrical cable retainers at the back of the device. The underside of the Fuse Box needs to be turned over to reveal the lower cover which can be opened while you loosen bolts securing the engine, i/p, and forward lamp wiring harness connectors to their block interface. Remove the Fuse Box by disconnecting both Engine Wiring Harness Connector and i/p wiring harness connector from their mount points on the box. I/p wiring harness connector and Engine Wiring Harness Connector must be connected to the Fuse Box before final installation. Secure the bolts attaching underhood Fuse Box components while tightening them to 7 n.m (62 lb in). First upturn the electrical center and then install the Fuse Box cover while implementing electrical cable retainers at the rear. Finishing the installation requires users to connect and tighten the positive Battery Cable lead to the Fuse Box stud until it reaches 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
