    Q: How to Replace A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches on Chevrolet Astro?
    A: Start the a/c high pressure switch replacement by eliminating the engine cover along with recovering refrigerant from your system. The surrounding region of the a/c high pressure switch requires cleaning prior to snap ring disassembly. You must disconnect the electrical connector which is attached to the a/c high pressure switch which sits at the rear head of the compressor. The worker should utilize the j 5403 (Snap Ring Pliers) to extract the a/c high pressure switch snap ring before proceeding to extract the a/c high pressure switch from the compressor. The j 9553-01 (O-Ring Remover) is used to extract the old o-ring seal from the switch cavity for an inspection-method to clean the cavity and o-ring groove from any dirt or foreign material. The new o-ring must receive 525 viscosity refrigerant oil lubrication before installation into the switch cavity groove. Apply the same oil to the control switch housing before putting the switch into the cavity until it reaches the bottom. The a/c high pressure switch snap ring must be installed with j 5403 (Snap Ring Pliers) so it faces the switch housing with its high point located inside the curve. Verify the snap ring has correctly positioned itself inside its housing. The repair process ends with evacuation and recharging the system. Next, perform a leak test on the fittings after using the j 39400-a (Halogen Leak Detector) to check repaired components before reinstalling the engine cover.
