    Q:
What tools are required to service and repair A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
The service and repair of the high pressure sensor/switch necessitates three specific tools that include snap ring pliers (J 5403), o-ring remover (J 9553-01), and halogen leak detector (J 39400-A). Commence the task by taking off the engine cover while recovering refrigerant from the system. The service technician must clean the a/c high pressure switch area first before using snap ring pliers to remove the snap ring. Subsequently the technician should disconnect the electrical connector from the a/c high pressure switch positioned inside the compressor's rear head. Remove the snap ring through use of snap ring pliers (J 5403) while taking the a/c high pressure switch out. The o-ring remover (J 9553-01) will extract the old o-ring seal from the switch cavity before the cavity and o-ring groove receive inspection for dirt and foreign materials that need cleaning. Before installation place a new o-ring inside the switch cavity groove and apply 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to it. Then use the retainer ring. Apply 525 viscosity oil to the switch housing before setting it into the cavity so it reaches the bottom spot. Seat the snap ring correctly by using the snap ring pliers (J 5403). After evacuating the system the technician should recharge it before performing leak testing on the fittings through the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) and putting back the engine cover.
