Chevrolet Astro EGR Valve Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the EGR valve on Chevrolet Astro?
A: The service process for the EGR Valve begins by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable then removing the air cleaner assembly followed by moving aside the air cleaner outlet duct. Before commencing the procedure look at the EGR Valve direction then detach the EGR Valve harness connector and untighten egr flange bolts before removing the EGR Valve coupled with its gasket. The correct orientation of the EGR Valve requires installation of the egr gasket between the valve and the Intake Manifold egr mounting position. Insert the EGR Valve bolts into its mounting holes with the gasket after placing them through. Start with a torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in) after which tighten them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). After connecting the EGR Valve's harness connector the installer must reconstruct the air cleaner assembly and secure the negative Battery Cable.
