The first step for inspecting the Engine Mount involves vehicle lifting. The inspection should focus on evaluating all bolts within the Engine Mount brackets from the engine to the engine bracket through-bolts and Engine Mount to frame brackets for presence of loose or missing hardware after which necessary replacements should be made. When you raise the engine avoid putting the jack under the
Oil Pan because it can risk damaging the components. Also avoid placing it on any sheet metal or Crankshaft Pulley. To reach the square tab on the left side, uninstall the oil filter adapter while the square tab on the right requires
Starter removal. A jack positioned on the square tab at the engine block rear will lift up the engine to eliminate stress from the mount while testing the rubber cushion. Engine Mount replacement is needed when heat check cracks appear on the hard rubber surface or when the rubber cushion detaches from the metal plate or when a split exists throughout the rubber cushion. After checking all systems proceed with reinstallation of the Starter and oil filter adapter followed by lowering the vehicle.
