Begin the Starter motor replacement process by removing the battery negative cable along with raising the vehicle correctly. The first step includes removing bolts securing the Starter motor to its mounts as well as the shims from before lowering the motor assembly. The procedure to replace the Starter motor starts with disconnecting the Starter enable relay lead along with the battery positive cable and the generator output (BAT) lead from the Starter solenoid field leads. Start by connecting the Starter motor field leads through a loose installation of the Starter enable relay lead at the solenoid terminal while making sure the terminal retaining tab matches correctly with the solenoid.
