How to replace the canister purge valves on Chevrolet Avalanche 1500?

The replacement process for EVAP canister purge valves begins with the removal of the engine sight shield. The large white retainer portion should be pushed inside while simultaneously pushing down with a slight upward pull which will separate the EVAP tube from the purge solenoid. You must disconnect the EVAP purge solenoid electrical connector first then remove the EVAP purge solenoid bolt. First remove the EVAP purge solenoid together with its insulator. Begin by fitting the insulator onto the EVAP canister purge valve because after that you can mount the valve. Fasten the EVAP canister purge valve bolt with 10.5 N.m (93 lb in) torque. The installation procedure requires you to reconnect the EVAP purge solenoid electrical connector after replacing the tubing back to the purge solenoid. The installation process requires you to replace the engine sight shield at the end.
