Raising the vehicle for proper support starts the replacement process of the Exhaust Heat Shield (1, 3) mounted to the dash panel. Before installation of the Exhaust Heat Shield (1,3) on dash panel studs, engineers must remove engine shield bolts followed by engine shield and Exhaust Heat Shield nuts and Exhaust Heat Shield (1,3). Position the Exhaust Heat Shield (1, 3) on the dash panel studs following the fastener notice for correct assembly. Position the Exhaust Heat Shield (1, 3) on the dash panel studs and secure all nuts with a torque of 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). The procedure calls for reinstalling the engine shield after installation of its bolts at a torque of 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Finally, lower the vehicle.
