Start by removing the body-side check strap bolt and check strap plug along with door-side check strap nuts before extracting the check strap through the door opening. When installing the check strap users should start by attaching it to the door followed by attachment to the body. Users must follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. The check strap nuts must be secured with 9 N.m (80 lb in) torque before installing the check strap bolt to a torque value of 25 N.m (18 lb in). Install the door trim panel and the water deflector as the last step.
