    In order to replace door limiter link, you first have to open the door, followed by removing the door trim panel and the water defector. Next, remove the body side limiter strap bolt and the limiter strap plug and take out door side limiter strap nuts and pull limiter strap out from inside door. To install, link the limiter strap with the door and subsequently with the body after tueling it with the head of the limiter strap nuts with 9N.m (80 lb. in). Then, install the limiter strap bolt and tighten it to 25 N.m (18 lb in), and reinstall the water deflector and the door trim panel.

First remove the check link pillar bolt for the body-side as well as the check plug before you use pliers to extract the check through the inside of the door. The installation process begins with putting the check inside the door followed by placing it in the body framework while following the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Secure the check nuts by torqueing them to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Before reinstalling the check link bolt apply LOCTITE(R) 242 GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) to its threads then tighten it to 25 N.m (18 lb in). Reinstall the water deflector on top of the check link bolt in addition to the door trim panel.
