Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 Turn Signal Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Turn Signal Switch and multifunction switch on Chevrolet Avalanche 2500?
A: Before you replace the turn signal and multifunction switch you need to disable the SIR system. Uncover both trims and keep notes about the abrasion sleeve connector from the wire harness assembly. Detach the wire harness assembly from the wire harness strap before separating the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector from the SIR system coil connector. Pull the two connectors of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly away from the bulkhead connector. Take out the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly from the steering column tilt head by removing its two tapping screws (Pan Head Tapping Screws & ). Simply place the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly onto the steering column tilt head assembly and let its electrical contact rest on the turn signal cancel cam assembly. Fasten both screws tightly into place. The top screw should reach 3Nm (27inch lbs.) for Domestic Column Shift or 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.) for Domestic Floor Shift and Export Column Shift whereas the side screw needs 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.) torque for all installations. Place the two connector plugs inside the bulkhead connector and join turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector to SIR coil connector. Position the ignition wire connectors through the sleeve opening before placing the steering column wire harness inside the sleeve and into the wire harness strap. Set the SIR system online after placing the upper and lower trim pieces.
