Chevrolet Cavalier Camshaft Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the camshaft position sensor on Chevrolet Cavalier?
A: The Camshaft Position Sensor servicing process begins with removing the air cleaner outlet resonator then disconnecting the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector until you can free the CMP sensor through its retaining bolt. Position the CMP sensor first before securing it with a CMP sensor bolt tightly set to 10 N.m (7.5 lb in). Reinstall both the air cleaner outlet resonator followed by reconnecting the CMP sensor electrical connector.
