How to replace the primary and secondary hood latch on Chevrolet Express 1500?

The hood primary and secondary latch replacement starts by lifting and supporting the hood followed by marking both the Hood Latch position and fastener positions. First detach the bolts which hold the Hood Latch onto the radiator support then remove the Hood Latch from this location. The hood release cable needs to be detached from around the Hood Latch. Installation requires attaching the hood release cable to the Hood Latch and placing the Hood Latch onto the radiator support before securing its position with bolts which are left loose at first. Position the Hood Latch and fasteners at their marked locations before adjusting the Hood Latch for left-right movement until the striker fits properly into the Hood Latch slot. Adjust the height of both the Hood Latch and the front hood bumpers to match the top of the hood to the fenders before securing the bolts for the Hood Latch to radiator support at 15 nm (11 lb ft). Complete the adjustments then apply torque to 15 nm (11 lb ft) to Hood Latch bolts at the radiator support before closing the hood.
